Who We Are

Sunrise Recovery is a team of addiction specialists who give men the best possible chance at achieving long term recovery from alcoholism or drug addiction.

Our staff is made up of counselors, therapists, and nurses who create an environment that is structured and supportive. Once the drug of choice leaves the system of the man in treatment, our staff helps the man address the underlying issues that are contributing to his substance abuse.

Who Comes to Sunrise Recovery

The men who come to our facility in the Riverside foothills have often lost everything to their addiction.

Our clients are men who are fully capable of being great fathers, sons, brothers, and husbands. These men have lost their way due to the addiction that has consumed them. Some men only drink alcohol, while others have gradually become physically and mentally dependent on prescription medications like OxyContin. One thing that they all have in common is that they are losing control of their lives and they are hurting the ones that matter most to them.

Addiction is now accepted as a mental disorder that is treatable. Struggling with addiction is not a matter of making good or bad choices, it is the loss of choice due to a variety of genetic and environmental factors. Our treatment team will educate the man about the effects of chemical dependency on the brain. The man will understand why he is experiencing cravings and will be given tools for long term sobriety.

Our rehabilitation program has a very high success rate because the men who receive treatment here are closely supervised in a facility that is beautiful and secluded. Many of the men on staff at Sunrise Recovery are in recovery themselves, and they are able to connect with the men in treatment. Under the guidance of our experienced staff, the men in treatment build fellowship with others in recovery and are shown how rewarding life can be without drugs or alcohol. Each man will be given an individualized treatment regimen that will include:

Dual Diagnosis

It is not uncommon for a client to be seeking treatment for chemical dependency and also be struggling with another mental health issue like depression, trauma, or an anxiety disorder. This is known as having a dual diagnosis disorder and our facility is trained in identifying and simultaneously treating addiction and the co-occurring disorder.

We have a consulting psychiatrist on staff who will work with the man closely in monitoring the symptoms of both diagnoses and prescribe medication if necessary.

From Detox to Long-Term Sobriety

Sunrise Recovery will thoroughly assess a new client for the required detoxification process (which is performed on site). Our staff of nurses provides the appropriate level of medical care to ensure a safe and comfortable detoxification process.

Once the man has the drugs out of his system, he begins to come "out of the fog" of his addiction and we take this opportunity to build a foundation of long term sobriety through the variety of processes and activities which you can see on our sample schedule.

Continuing Care

Throughout the treatment process, our staff will help the man plan his long term "continuing care" plan so that he is able to "step down" his level of support gradually and successfully re-enter society and pursue goals that will continue his growth in life. Our parent facility has a variety of treatment options that allow for a man to continue treatment while resuming his career or education.

Our treatment center has a tight knit group of alumni who frequently visit and get together to celebrate monthly and annual milestones of sobriety.
